Senior District And Session Judge
Md. Abul Mansoor Mian, a highly respected member of the Bangladesh Judicial Service, currently serves as the Senior District and Sessions Judge at Nilphamari. Born on 1st January 1967 in Sirajganj, he has dedicated over two decades of his life to upholding justice and the rule of law in Bangladesh.
Md. Abul Mansoor Mian began his academic journey at Sonatani High School, Shahzadpur, where he completed his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1981, followed by his Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from Government Edward College, Pabna in 1983 both in the Science group with second division results. He pursued legal studies at Rajshahi University, earning his LL.B. (Hons.) in 1987 and LL.M. in 1988, achieving second division in both degrees.
He joined the Bangladesh Judicial Service on 24th June 1998 through the 18th BCS (Judicial) cadre. Since then, his career has spanned a variety of judicial positions and regions, reflecting his versatility and deep commitment to judicial service. His first posting was as an Assistant Judge at the District Judge Court, Rajshahi. Over the years, he served in numerous capacities, including Senior Assistant Judge, Joint District & Sessions Judge, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Chief Judicial Magistrate, and Special Judge. He worked in various districts including Tangail, Dinajpur, Lalmonirhat, Pabna, Thakurgaon, Gaibandha, and Rajshahi, eventually being promoted to the position of Senior District & Sessions Judge, currently stationed in Nilphamari as of April 27, 2025.
Throughout his judicial career, Judge Mian has been actively involved in continuous learning and professional development. He received training from prestigious institutions like the Bangladesh Public Service Training Centre (BPSTC), Judicial Administration Training Institute (JATI), Survey & Settlement Training, Bangladesh Institute of Law and International Affairs (BILIA), and the Bangladesh Environment Lawyers Association (BELA). He has also represented Bangladesh internationally, notably attending training at Western Sydney University, Australia.
